Mei Mei & Mud: Meaningful design is a growing relationship

I bought the first piece of Mei Mei & Mud at her first popup! (I feel so grateful to have that experience) What drew me into the her work was how blobby and experimental each of her pieces were. At the time she didn't have any branding, so with her experience as an art director and me as a designer and photographer we collaborated on a brand identity to express all Mei Mei & Mud is.

My strategy?

Create an icon not typically used in the pottery space that represents her alternative, quirky, and voluminous work. The blobfish, reminiscent of an early piece she made was a perfect representation of all things clay and globby.

What I learned?

Creating for people and companies who's values align with mine, makes work that is meaningful and will create memories for a lifetime.
